But the Yocan Evolve Plus works great for wax/shatter and may work with other kinds, including distillate, I'm just not sure. The most important thing is that they don't start hanging out with retards who equate more with better, who make them smoke shitty weed joint after joint and hang out with coke dealers.

A kid who wants to do something taboo can't be stopped. The more restrictions you put on them, the cooler they'll think it is and the more they'll do it just for the sake of rubbing everyone the wrong way.
They'll also generally go as far as it's necessary to be able to do it, which is why I say "whenever they want to". If they're forbidden from it, they'll get contrary and keep on doing it even if they don't like it to keep friends with the shitheads who supply them with it.
If it's something you can get whenever and can smoke under relaxing circumstances, it's not taboo enough to smoke for the sake of smoking it.
If not only my kid, but any kid, came to me and wanted to smoke weed, I'd roll them a weak joint with some good pot to start with, be in a safe environment and make sure I'm relatively sober. I'd put on some music and switch it off if it was noiding them out, make sure they have something to eat and tell them that if they feel paranoid, the only thing they have to do is to say stop.

This way, smoking weed doesn't turn into a status race where you compete with the boneheads in the McDonald's parking lot in the middle of winter with people you don't know as to who can smoke the most rips of synth-sprayed bunk from a can pipe with paint on it while some coke fiend twenty years older than them is picking a fight with everyone and telling them how to smoke, how the lizards are out to get them and how the cops are hiding behind every corner.

Weed in itself isn't going to fuck anyone over just like that.
Shitty weed with shitty people while freezing your tits off in a stairwell in the bad part of town is going to fuck you up, because you're hanging out with everyone who didn't get introduced to weed properly and smoke it as a way of showing off.

I've actually been thinking about this recently

so you get high because of gas exchange in your alveoli. CO2 in your blood gets exchanged with oxygen (or other high-inducing vapors) in your lugs. Holding it in doesn't do anything because your alveoli have incredible surface area and become saturated almost immediately upon inhaling, but surely they don't just magically and immediately suck all the good stuff out of the vapor either. And your alveoli free themselves of whatever molecules they've attached to when you exhale - these are all verifiable biological facts. So here comes the speculation part

I think the most efficient way to get high is inhale your hit, exhale a little bit of it, inhale fresh air, exhale a little bit, inhale fresh air, exhale, until your lungs are clear. I think each exhale allows some of the alveoli to "clean" themselves while there's still vapor in your lungs, allowing more of the good shit to be absorbed per hit
